Part 3 – God’s Sacrifice Provides Covering for Mans’ Sin

The Book of Genesis is an extremely important expression from God to His creation. God reveals much of His character and introduces His Will and His Ways to us. He introduces principles, patterns and curses that have come into existence because of our sinful rebellion. The enormous importance of receiving the Book of Genesis as thee authoritative truth from our Almighty and Awesome God cannot be over emphasized.

Three years ago while studying the Book of Genesis, the Holy Spirit opened my eyes and enabled me to begin to receive a glimpse of the enormity of what God did for us and is telling us through this simple but “mind renewing” verse:

Unto Adam also and to his wife
did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
Genesis 3:21

The first death in God’s creation took place when God killed animals, most likely lambs, to provide clothing to cover Adam and Eve’s exposed nakedness.

Our perfect, holy God willingly shed the very first drop of blood ever shed for the sake of mankind. The shedding of blood, the first death, came as a result of man using his free will to choose to sin - rebel against God.

Our awesome God responded to mans’ act of disobedience by making the very first blood sacrifice on behalf of mankind.

*See information supplements from previous mailings, also published on www.garielministries.org, regarding one great deception of Satan’s namely macroevolution and the accompanying lie of billions of years

How great is the damage that has been done by mans’ acceptance of the wisdom of men in the place of receiving into our hearts the wisdom and truth of the Word of God.

Before Adam and Eve sinned they were innocent, pure and not ashamed.
Genesis 2:21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.  23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.  25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. (KJV used throughout)

After Adam and Eve sinned they lost their innocence and purity. They inadequately tried to cover their act of sinfulness (nakedness) by sewing together fig leaves to wear as covering.

Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.  7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

After Adam and Eve sinned they became afraid and were ashamed.
Genesis 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. 9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself

God IS love. He is purely holy. He cannot tell a lie. He is just. God must always remain true to Who He Is.

God demonstrated His love to Adam and Eve and for all mankind. Adam and Eve could not provide adequate covering for their nakedness. Only God could cover their nakedness (and our sins)!

Genesis 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife
did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

Can we even begin to comprehend what it truly meant when God willingly shed blood, the first blood, for His creation?

I believe it is safe to conclude that the sacrifice God made in the Garden of Eden initiated the practice of making offerings and blood sacrifices to God. God required offerings and sacrifices to be made as a form of obedience to Him and of atonement for man’s sinful rebellion.

If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord. And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him. Leviticus 1:3-4.

Throughout the Old Testament we find offerings and blood sacrifices being made by God’s chosen people - Israel. This practice pointed to the coming of the Messiah - our Lord and Savior who became the permanent, final, perfect, unblemished blood sacrifice. Jesus paid the full price for mans’ sin and
overcame the curse upon mankind.

“Try for a moment to picture Jesus as He hung there on the cross. Then you will begin to appreciate the full horror of the curse. Jesus had been rejected by His own countrymen, betrayed by one of His disciples and abandoned by the rest, though some later returned to follow His final agony.

He was suspended naked between earth and heaven.
His body wracked by the pain of innumerable wounds,
His soul weighed down by the guilt of all humanity.
Earth had rejected Him, and heaven would not respond to His cry.

As the sun withdrew its light and darkness covered Him, His lifeblood ebbed out onto the dusty, stony soil. Yet out of the darkness, just before He expired, there came one final, triumphant cry: ‘It is finished.’ ”
quoted from Blessing or Curse: You Can Choose by Derek Prince

Jesus Christ, the unblemished sacrificial lamb, bore the shame of our nakedness on the cross! He provided the needed covering for sin once and for all. He gave His everything to provide for you the gift of eternal life.

Can you give your everything to Jesus Christ?
Can you turn your life over to Him?
Repent and receive Jesus Christ into your heart.
Receive Him as your Lord and Savior. Do it.
Become born again in Jesus Christ!
You will never regret surrendering yourself into His loving arms.

But God commendeth His love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Summary Points
One purpose of this writing was to draw attention to the fact that death had not been experienced in God’s creation until God, Himself, for the sake of mankind, killed animals to provide covering for the nakedness (sinful act of disobedience) of Adam and Eve.

Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. Romans 5:12

There was no death, suffering or disease before man sinned. The disobedience of man brought these consequences into the world. What man did affected the rest of God’s creation, including the animal kingdom, the earth and the entire universe. When man sinned, the gradual decline and decay of everything in the universe began.

This is contrary to what the world teaches through macro-evolution and billions of years. It is important to understand that macroevolution involves the need for mutation to occur which includes pain, suffering and death.

Is God’s Word the truth or is God a liar? If truth, we must quit endorsing the lie of macroevolution and billions of years and give back to our God of love and mercy the glory He so rightly deserves!

God provided the first blood sacrifice for the sake of mankind in the Garden of Eden. In due time He provided the permanent and final blood sacrifice for the sake of mankind one the cross in the form of His own Son, Jesus Christ.

Why did God do this? So that everyone who willingly receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will not pay the eternal consequence for sin but instead will live forever in the loving presence of our holy God.

For since by man came death, by man came also the
resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so
in Christ shall all be made alive. I Corinthians 15:21-22
