Page 2 Go to Letter 3 Page 3 I prayed out loud so
Ashley could hear the prayer. After
finishing my prayer, a couple minutes later, I heard Ashley say Amen. I asked
her if she had prayed for Angie and the baby.
She said, “yes, grandma.” I
don’t know what she said in her prayer, but I do know that God does not look
at how or even what we try to say when we pray.
He looks into our hearts and sees the purity of motive behind
each prayer. On many occasions when Ashley is concerned about something,
she has come to me and stated, “grandma, we need to pray to God.”
Childlike faith is what God desires from each of His children, young and
old. Everything went relatively well during
the delivery except it seemed like the process went in reverse order. Angie’s
water broke first, then labor started and finally the baby dropped.
There was talk of delivering the baby by C-section, but through patience
and the use of epidural injections, the baby moved down. Anwar made his entrance
into this world at 2:26 p.m. on Friday, December 19th. I was with Angie through every stage of
the delivery process. I did labor coaching, and when it came time to start
pushing, I supported the leg on the side where her hip had been replaced.
Standing in this position, I witnessed all that was involved in little
Anwar’s birth. It was awesome, a great privilege, and a huge blessing from
God. During the delivery process, I spent
time thinking about how incredible the birthing process truly is. If it wasn’t
for the fact that sin brought with it the consequence of experiencing
considerable pain during childbirth, I think each woman would appreciate the
wonder of birth much more. Since entering into an intimate personal relationship
with Jesus Christ, my perspective on so many things has changed.
I loved thinking about how magnificent the birthing process is.
I loved spending time giving God the glory and praise for this wonderful
miracle. God deserves all the glory, all our praise and all our thanks. It would
be wonderful if every woman could realize what a privilege and great honor it is
to conceive, carry and deliver life. When the nurse asked if I would like to
examine with her the umbilical cord and the sack that held the baby I replied,
yes, most definitely. God directed me to spend time with
family and that is exactly what I have been doing.
For four weeks, averaging six days per week, I stayed with Angie and
Anwar. It was wonderful to spend
time bonding with the baby and reconnecting with my daughter.
I feel so fortunate and blessed to have been able to spend this time with
them. Also, I was able to take care
of Ashley and get her to and from school while her mom was on a business trip to
Germany. “Spend time with family.” That is exactly what I did. What a gracious blessing from our
loving God. Baby Anwar was exactly 3 weeks early.
He weighed 7 pounds 7 ounces at birth. He has my blood type, AB+.
What more, in terms of signs indicating that God’s hand was directly
upon my grandson, could I possibly ask for?
God answered prayers for a healthy baby and a safe delivery. What am I talking about?
Over these past two years, God has demonstrated over and over again how
He applies His signature by the use of certain numbers, namely 3’s, 7’s and
40’s. He has also placed great
emphasis on blood. I will be sharing more examples of all of these in upcoming
letters. When the doctor announced Anwar’s
birth weight, I realized immediately that God’s hand was and is upon the baby.
But, it got even better. I realized
he was exactly a full three weeks early. I
realized that if Anwar had not been born exactly three weeks early, he would not
have weighed I was not pleased with
the circumstances surrounding Angie’s becoming pregnant.
I did not know what my feelings would be for this little one, but when it became clear to me that God’s hand was and is upon Anwar, it enabled me to open my heart and take Anwar into it. He is, as are all babies, a precious gift from God. Testimony of Dorothy von Lehe |
